Biography
Massimiliano Notaro was born in Rome in 1975.
He begins his professional career working for the Dino Leonetti Studios.
In this period, he publishes comic strips and illustration in magazines for several European publisher thus experimenting different styles and techniques.
He keeps realizing stories for the Italian publisher Aurea Editorial and publishes
several short stories for the Italian magazine Skorpio e Lanciostory. In this period,
he draws entirely one of the comic books of the famous John Doe saga (2004).
Thanks to the collaboration with the French scriptwriter Philippe Saimbert, he draws and publishes Blood Academy, a hardcover thriller book for the Belgian publisher Joker Editions.
In the same time, he worked in advertising creating storyboards for the Italian Minister of Health – Pubblicità Progresso – Xoolab Design.
Through the Daisho Studio in Rome managed by Saverio Tenuta, in 2014 he published two fantasy books for Les Humanoides Associés publisher ("Jaemon" - La corde d'or tomo 3 / "Jaemon"- Ceux qui Viennent La Nuit tomo 4).
These works will then be republished also in many other countries in different formats and extended versions (“Throne of Ice”, “Antarcides”, “Jaemon” complete edition).
In 2020 he works for Editions Plein Vent on the series “Les grandes batailles del’ histoire de France” and publishes the book “Austerlitz” (texts: Pascal Davoz).
In 2023 he draws tomo 4 of the series “La gloire des Aigles” (“Le raisin des immortels!”) - Idèes Plus Edition.
In addiction to comics, he creates historical illustrations for the Ministry of Defense and the Italian Air Force. In 2020 the illustrative book is pubblished: "Per cosa si combatte" - Italian Army/Gemmagraf 2020. (“The Illustrated History of the first World War”)
He worked with the scriptwriter Cristiano Silvi in the comic courses at Associazione Multidisciplinare XXII Municipio in Rome (2001 – 2004). In 2005, he worked at the International Comics School of Rome.
